Why is the entire Zone Icon Board locked?

Because of my work commitments during the last week or 2, I couldn't always be here and read or reply to board topics of interest to me.
I must admit, when I had some time on my hands tonight, I decided to brows the Zone Icon Board, to see what the latest buzz is.
There were a number of topics I wanted to reply to, but to my disappointment, (probably disgust), I found that all the topics on that board have been locked.

With Icon something of the past for just over a week now, isn't it a bit hasty to lock the entire board?
Couldn't the Zone Staff allow at least a month or so, keeping in mind that it is the holiday season, and that many people who could make useful contributions towards this board, are away?

I agree. It was too soon to lock the zone icon board and in my oppinion it should be a notice to let us know about it before hand so people who wanted to reply before the lock up time they could do so.
It sounds really strange to me.
Personally i was lucky to reply to the boards i wanted such as funn clubs, icon feedback etc but i can see your point and i agree the christmas holidays was a perfect time for the busy people to come back and read and reply.
I don't understand why they have been locked withoutnotice.

Good question. I am surprised there wasn't a news topick in the news file about the winner. Somebody had to read the boards to find out or read the vode results in the zone icon page.
The sweet heart was the winner. Now she changed her username but i don't remember it.

I've restored the category. Your point is well-taken, and we'll leave it open for a while longer. I was the one who locked it, so cast any blame this way, rather than at the rest of the staff.

Thanks Chris. It's good that the board is open again for a bit longer so we will see some interesting feedback from people who couldn't post before.

Frankly, I'm sick of seeing it, but oh well. I guess I understand the point Q and Nikos were making, but I hope it gets locked again soon. LOL.
